31 Then one told David, saying, Ahithophel is one of them that have conspired with Absalom: and David said, O Lord, I pray thee, turn the [a]counsel of Ahithophel into foolishness.
32 ¶ Then David came to the top of the mount where he worshipped God: and behold, Hushai the Archite came against him with his coat torn, and having earth upon his head.
33 Unto whom David said, If thou go with me, thou shalt be a burthen unto me.

31 Now David had been told, “Ahithophel(A) is among the conspirators with Absalom.” So David prayed, “Lord, turn Ahithophel’s counsel into foolishness.”
32 When David arrived at the summit, where people used to worship God, Hushai(B) the Arkite(C) was there to meet him, his robe torn and dust(D) on his head. 33 David said to him, “If you go with me, you will be a burden(E) to me.
