¹⁰ Then Absalom sent secret messengers throughout the tribes of Israel to say, “As soon as you hear the sound of the trumpets,^(A) then say, ‘Absalom is king in Hebron.’”

³⁴ There have Zadok the priest and Nathan the prophet anoint^(A) him king over Israel. Blow the trumpet^(B) and shout, ‘Long live King Solomon!’

³⁹ Zadok the priest took the horn of oil^(A) from the sacred tent^(B) and anointed Solomon. Then they sounded the trumpet^(C) and all the people shouted,^(D) “Long live King Solomon!”

⁷ They brought the donkey and the colt and placed their cloaks on them for Jesus to sit on.
