6 And He condemned to ruin and extinction the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah, reducing them to ashes [and thus] set them forth as an example to those who would be ungodly;(A)
7 And He rescued righteous Lot, greatly worn out and distressed by the wanton ways of the ungodly and lawless—(B)
8 For that just man, living [there] among them, tortured his righteous soul every day with what he saw and heard of [their] unlawful and wicked deeds—

6 if he condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah by burning them to ashes,(A) and made them an example(B) of what is going to happen to the ungodly;(C) 7 and if he rescued Lot,(D) a righteous man, who was distressed by the depraved conduct of the lawless(E) 8 (for that righteous man,(F) living among them day after day, was tormented in his righteous soul by the lawless deeds he saw and heard)—
