[a] 18 And we ourselves heard this voice come out of heaven, when we were with Him on the holy mountain. [b] 19 Furthermore, we have the reliable prophetic word. You do well by paying attention to it, as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts. [c] 20 Above all understand this: no prophecy of Scripture comes about from a person’s own interpretation.

19 We also have the prophetic message as something completely reliable,(B) and you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a light(C) shining in a dark place, until the day dawns(D) and the morning star(E) rises in your hearts.(F) 20 Above all, you must understand(G) that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation of things.
