22 When Joram saw Jehu he said, “Is it peace, Jehu?”

And he said, “What peace, so long as the harlotries of your mother Jezebel and her sorceries are so many?”

23 Then Joram turned the reins, fled, and said to Ahaziah, “There is treachery, Ahaziah.”

24 Jehu drew a bow with his full strength and shot Joram between his shoulder blades. The arrow went out at his heart, and he kneeled down in his chariot.

“How can there be peace,” Jehu replied, “as long as all the idolatry and witchcraft of your mother Jezebel(A) abound?”

23 Joram turned about and fled, calling out to Ahaziah, “Treachery,(B) Ahaziah!”

24 Then Jehu drew his bow(C) and shot Joram between the shoulders. The arrow pierced his heart and he slumped down in his chariot.
