10 The whole Chaldean army under the commander of the guard tore down the walls surrounding Jerusalem. 11 Then Nebuzaradan the commander of the guard exiled the people who were left in the city, those who had already surrendered to Babylon’s king, and the rest of the population. 12 The commander of the guard left some of the land’s poor people behind to work the vineyards and be farmers.

New International Version
10 The whole Babylonian army under the commander of the imperial guard broke down the walls(A) around Jerusalem. 11 Nebuzaradan the commander of the guard carried into exile(B) the people who remained in the city, along with the rest of the populace and those who had deserted to the king of Babylon.(C) 12 But the commander left behind some of the poorest people(D) of the land to work the vineyards and fields.
