³ Surely these things happened to Judah according to the Lord’s command,^(A) in order to remove them from his presence^(B) because of the sins of Manasseh^(C) and all he had done,

⁴ including the shedding of innocent blood.^(A) For he had filled Jerusalem with innocent blood, and the Lord was not willing to forgive.^(B)

² “Son of man, will you judge her? Will you judge this city of bloodshed?^(A) Then confront her with all her detestable practices^(B)

³ and say: ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: You city that brings on herself doom by shedding blood^(A) in her midst and defiles herself by making idols,

²⁷ Her officials^(A) within her are like wolves^(B) tearing their prey; they shed blood and kill people^(C) to make unjust gain.^(D)
