24 Josiah put away the people who spoke with spirits, and people who used their secret ways. He put away the house gods and the false gods and all the sinful things that were seen in the land of Judah and in Jerusalem. He did this to obey the words of the Law which were written in the book that was found in the Lord’s house by Hilkiah the religious leader. 25 Before Josiah there was no king like him who turned to the Lord with all his heart and soul and strength, obeying all the Law of Moses. And no one like him came after him.

26 But the Lord did not stop from being very angry against Judah. Because Manasseh had done many things to make Him angry.

24 Furthermore, Josiah got rid of the mediums and spiritists,(A) the household gods,(B) the idols and all the other detestable(C) things seen in Judah and Jerusalem. This he did to fulfill the requirements of the law written in the book that Hilkiah the priest had discovered in the temple of the Lord. 25 Neither before nor after Josiah was there a king like him who turned(D) to the Lord as he did—with all his heart and with all his soul and with all his strength, in accordance with all the Law of Moses.(E)

26 Nevertheless, the Lord did not turn away from the heat of his fierce anger,(F) which burned against Judah because of all that Manasseh(G) had done to arouse his anger.
