19 Josiah also removed all the shrines of the high places that were in the cities of Samaria, which the kings of Israel had made to anger the Lord.(A) Josiah did the same things to them that he had done at Bethel. 20 He slaughtered on the altars all the priests of those high places,(B) and he burned human bones on the altars.(C) Then he returned to Jerusalem.

21 The king commanded all the people, “Observe the Passover of the Lord your God as written in the book of the covenant.”(D)

19 Just as he had done at Bethel, Josiah removed all the shrines at the high places that the kings of Israel had built in the towns of Samaria and that had aroused the Lord’s anger. 20 Josiah slaughtered(A) all the priests of those high places on the altars and burned human bones(B) on them. Then he went back to Jerusalem.
21 The king gave this order to all the people: “Celebrate the Passover(C) to the Lord your God, as it is written in this Book of the Covenant.”(D)
