²And he did what was right in the sight of the Lord, and walked in all the ways of his father David; he ^(A)did not turn aside to the right hand or to the left.

³^(C)Now it came to pass, in the eighteenth year of King Josiah, that the king sent Shaphan the scribe, the son of Azaliah, the son of Meshullam, to the house of the Lord, saying: ⁴“Go up to Hilkiah the high priest, that he may count the money which has been ^(D)brought into the house of the Lord, which ^(E)the doorkeepers have gathered from the people.

²He did what was right^(A) in the eyes of the Lord and followed completely the ways of his father David, not turning aside to the right^(B) or to the left.

³In the eighteenth year of his reign, King Josiah sent the secretary, Shaphan^(C) son of Azaliah, the son of Meshullam, to the temple of the Lord. He said: ⁴“Go up to Hilkiah^(D) the high priest and have him get ready the money that has been brought into the temple of the Lord, which the doorkeepers have collected^(E) from the people.
