22 He abandoned the Lord God of his ancestors(A) and did not walk in the way of the Lord.(B)
23 Amon’s servants conspired against the king and killed him in his own house.(C) 24 Then the common people[a] executed(D) all those who had conspired against King Amon and made his son Josiah(E) king in his place.

23 Amon’s officials conspired against him and assassinated(C) the king in his palace. 24 Then the people of the land killed(D) all who had plotted against King Amon, and they made Josiah(E) his son king in his place.
