2 And he did evil in the sight of the Lord after the abomination of the heathen, whom the (A)Lord had cast out before the children of Israel.
3 For he went back and built the high places, (B)which Hezekiah his father had destroyed: and he erected up altars for Baal, and made a grove, as did Ahab king of Israel, and worshipped all the host of heaven and served them.
4 Also he (C)built altars in the house of the Lord, of the which the Lord said, (D)In Jerusalem will I put my Name.

2 He did evil(A) in the eyes of the Lord, following the detestable practices(B) of the nations the Lord had driven out before the Israelites. 3 He rebuilt the high places(C) his father Hezekiah had destroyed; he also erected altars to Baal(D) and made an Asherah pole,(E) as Ahab king of Israel had done. He bowed down to all the starry hosts(F) and worshiped them. 4 He built altars(G) in the temple of the Lord, of which the Lord had said, “In Jerusalem I will put my Name.”(H)
