13 He also took up the mantle of Elijah that fell from him and returned and stood by the bank of the Jordan. 14 And he took the mantle of Elijah that fell from him and struck the waters and said, “Where is Yahweh, the God of Elijah?” Indeed, he himself also (A)struck the waters, and they were divided here and there! And Elisha crossed over.

Elisha Has the Spirit of Elijah

15 Then (B)the sons of the prophets who were at Jericho opposite him saw him and said, “The spirit of Elijah rests on Elisha.” And they came to meet him and bowed themselves to the ground before him.

13 Elisha then picked up Elijah’s cloak that had fallen from him and went back and stood on the bank of the Jordan. 14 He took the cloak(A) that had fallen from Elijah and struck(B) the water with it. “Where now is the Lord, the God of Elijah?” he asked. When he struck the water, it divided to the right and to the left, and he crossed over.

15 The company(C) of the prophets from Jericho, who were watching, said, “The spirit(D) of Elijah is resting on Elisha.” And they went to meet him and bowed to the ground before him.
