11 As they were going along and talking, behold, there appeared (A)a chariot of fire and horses of fire which separated the two of them. And Elijah went up by a [a]whirlwind to heaven. 12 Elisha saw it and cried out, “(B)My father, my father, the [b]chariots of Israel and its horsemen!” And he saw [c]Elijah no more. Then (C)he took hold of his own clothes and tore them in two pieces. 13 He also took up the mantle of Elijah that fell from him and returned and stood by the bank of the Jordan.

My father! The chariots(D) and horsemen of Israel!” And Elisha saw him no more. Then he took hold of his garment and tore(E) it in two.

13 Elisha then picked up Elijah’s cloak that had fallen from him and went back and stood on the bank of the Jordan.
