¹⁷ They made their sons and daughters pass through the fire^(A) and practiced divination and interpreted omens.^(B) They devoted themselves to do what was evil in the Lord’s sight and provoked Him.^(C)

¹⁴ For we know that the law is spiritual,^(A) but I am made out of flesh,^[a] sold^(B) into sin’s power.^(C)
