⁵ “I will also ^(A)break the gate bar of Damascus,
And cut off the inhabitant from the ^[a]valley of Aven,
And him who holds the scepter, from Beth-eden;
So the people of Aram will go exiled to ^(B)Kir,”
Says the Lord.

⁷ “Are you not as the sons of ^(A)Ethiopia to Me,
O sons of Israel?” declares the Lord.
“Have I not brought up Israel from the land of Egypt,
And the ^(B)Philistines from Caphtor and the ^(C)Arameans from ^(D)Kir?
