8 Ahaz also (A)took the silver and gold that was found in the house of the Lord and in the treasures of the king's house and sent a present to the king of Assyria. 9 (B)And the king of Assyria listened to him. The king of Assyria marched up against Damascus (C)and took it, carrying its people captive to (D)Kir, and he killed Rezin.

8 And Ahaz took the silver and gold found in the temple of the Lord and in the treasuries of the royal palace and sent it as a gift(A) to the king of Assyria. 9 The king of Assyria complied by attacking Damascus(B) and capturing it. He deported its inhabitants to Kir(C) and put Rezin to death.
