12 The word of the Lord that he spoke to Jehu was, “Four generations of your sons will sit on the throne of Israel,”(A) and it was so.
Israel’s King Shallum
13 In the thirty-ninth year of Judah’s King Uzziah,[a] Shallum son of Jabesh became king; he reigned in Samaria(B) a full month. 14 Then Menahem son of Gadi came up from Tirzah(C) to Samaria and struck down Shallum son of Jabesh there. He killed him and became king in his place.

12 So the word of the Lord spoken to Jehu was fulfilled:(A) “Your descendants will sit on the throne of Israel to the fourth generation.”[a]
Shallum King of Israel
13 Shallum son of Jabesh became king in the thirty-ninth year of Uzziah king of Judah, and he reigned in Samaria(B) one month. 14 Then Menahem son of Gadi went from Tirzah(C) up to Samaria. He attacked Shallum son of Jabesh in Samaria, assassinated(D) him and succeeded him as king.
