10 Shallum son of Jabesh conspired against him. He struck him down in front of the people and killed him. Then he became king in his place.
11 As for the rest of Zechariah’s acts, you can find them written in the annals of the kings of Israel. 12 This was the word of the Lord which he had spoken to Jehu: “Four generations of your sons will sit on the throne of Israel.” And that is what happened.

10 Shallum son of Jabesh conspired against Zechariah. He attacked him in front of the people,[a] assassinated(A) him and succeeded him as king. 11 The other events of Zechariah’s reign are written in the book of the annals(B) of the kings of Israel. 12 So the word of the Lord spoken to Jehu was fulfilled:(C) “Your descendants will sit on the throne of Israel to the fourth generation.”[b]
