27 Yahweh did not decree to blot out the name of Israel from under the heavens, so he saved them by the hand of Jeroboam the son of Jehoash.
28 Now the remainder of the acts of Jeroboam, all that he did, his powerful deeds, how he fought, and how he restored Damascus and Hamath of Judah to Israel, are they not written on the scroll of the events of the days of the kings of Israel? 29 So Jeroboam slept with his ancestors[a] the kings of Israel, and his son Zechariah became king in his place.

27 And since the Lord had not said he would blot out(A) the name of Israel from under heaven, he saved(B) them by the hand of Jeroboam son of Jehoash.
28 As for the other events of Jeroboam’s reign, all he did, and his military achievements, including how he recovered for Israel both Damascus(C) and Hamath,(D) which had belonged to Judah, are they not written in the book of the annals(E) of the kings of Israel? 29 Jeroboam rested with his ancestors, the kings of Israel. And Zechariah his son succeeded him as king.
