⁵ (Therefore the Lord gave Israel ^(A)a saviour, so that they escaped from the hand of the Syrians, and the people of Israel lived in ^(B)their homes as formerly.

^23 (A)But the Lord was gracious to them and had compassion on them, ^(B)and he turned towards them, ^(C)because of his covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and would not destroy them, nor has he cast them from his presence until now.
