22 Now (A)Hazael king of Aram had oppressed Israel all the days of Jehoahaz. 23 But the (B)Lord was gracious to them and (C)had compassion on them and turned to them because of (D)His covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and would not destroy them or cast them from His presence until now.
24 When Hazael king of Aram died, Ben-hadad his son became king in his place.

New International Version
22 Hazael king of Aram oppressed(A) Israel throughout the reign of Jehoahaz. 23 But the Lord was gracious to them and had compassion and showed concern for them because of his covenant(B) with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. To this day he has been unwilling to destroy(C) them or banish them from his presence.(D)
24 Hazael king of Aram died, and Ben-Hadad(E) his son succeeded him as king.
