Ang Pulong Sa Dios
7 Mga hinigugma, tungod niini nga mga saad sa Dios kanato, biyaan na nato ang tanang nakapahugaw sa atong tibuok nga kinabuhi,[a] ug tinguhaon nato nga mahimong hinlo ang atong kinabuhi nga may pagtahod sa Dios.
Ang Kalipay ni Pablo
2 Kon mahimo, hatagi kami ninyog luna sa inyong kasingkasing. Wala kami magbuhat ug daotan kang bisan kinsa kaninyo. Wala usab kami mangdaot o mamintaha kaninyo. 3 Wala ako mosulti niini sa paghukom kaninyo. Kay sama sa akong giingon kaniadto, gihigugma gayod namo kamo ug bisan unsay mahitabo, buhi man o patay, mag-inunongay gayod kita. 4 Dako ang akong pagsalig kaninyo ug gipasigarbo ko gayod kamo. Bisan daghan nga kalisod ang among nasinatian, hilabihan ang akong kalipay sa dihang nakadungog ako mahitungod kaninyo. 5 Kay bisan sa pag-abot namo sa Macedonia, wala gayoy pahulay ang among lawas tungod kay bisan asa nagaantos kami. Giaway kami sa mga nagbatok kanamo, ug nabalaka usab kami tungod sa kahimtang sa mga tumutuo. 6 Apan ang Dios nga nagadasig sa mga masulob-on mao ang nagdasig kanamo pinaagi sa pag-abot ni Tito. 7 Dili lang ang iyang pag-abot ang nakahatag ug kadasig kanamo, kondili ang iya usab nga gisugilon nga gidasig ninyo siya. Gisuginlan niya kami nga gimingaw kamo kanako ug naguol kamo sa nahitabo, ug gilabanan ninyo ako. Busa malipayon gayod ako karon.
8 Bisan ug nakapasubo kadtong akong sulat kaninyo, wala ako nagbasol nga gisulat ko kadto. Sa sinugdan, tinuod nga nagbasol ako kay nakita ko nga nasubo kamo, bisan sa makadiyot lang. 9 Apan karon malipayon ako, dili tungod kay nasubo kamo, kondili tungod kay mao kadto ang nahimong hinungdan nga naghinulsol kamo. Kay gipasubo kamo sumala sa kabubut-on sa Dios, busa wala maghatag ug kadaot kaninyo kadtong among gisulat. 10 Kay ang kasub-anan nga sumala sa kabubut-on sa Dios nagahatod sa tawo ngadto sa paghinulsol ug kana nagaresulta sa kaluwasan—ug kini dili angay pagabasolan. Apan ang kasubo sa mga tawo nga wala moila sa Dios nagadala kanila ngadto sa kamatayon. 11 Tan-awa ninyo ang resulta niadtong kasubo nga miabot kaninyo sumala sa kabubut-on sa Dios. Nahimo kamong desidido sa pagpakita kanamo nga hinlo kamo gikan niadtong sala nga akong giingon kaninyo. Nasuko gayod kamo sa nakabuhat niadto nga sala, ug nahadlok kamo kon unsa ang mahimong sangpotanan niadto. Gusto gayod ninyo nga mobalik pag-usab ang atong daan nga relasyon. Gisilotan pa gayod ninyo ang nakahimo niadto. Ug sa tanang butang gipakita ninyo nga kamo wala gayoy tulubagon niadto nga sala.
12 Busa kadtong akong sulat dili lang alang sa nakabuhat ug daotan o sa gibuhatan ug daotan, kondili labi na gayod alang kaninyong tanan aron sa atubangan sa Dios mapadayag gayod ninyo ang inyong pagkamatinud-anon kanamo. 13 Ug pinaagi niini nadasig kami.
Ug dili kay kana lang, nadugangan pa gayod ang among kadasig sa dihang nakita namo nga nalipay si Tito, kay wala na siyay kabalaka mahitungod kaninyo. 14 Gidayeg ko kamo ngadto kang Tito sa dihang nagsultihanay kami bahin kaninyo. Ug wala ako maulawi kay namatud-an niya nga tinuod ang among gisugilon kaniya. 15 Ug kada mahinumdoman ni Tito nga nagsunod kamong tanan sa iyang gisulti ug dako ang inyong pagtahod kaniya, nagadugang pa gayod ang iyang paghigugma kaninyo. 16 Ug malipayon usab ako kay masaligan ko gayod kamo.

7 Therefore, since we have these promises,(A) dear friends,(B) let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness(C) out of reverence for God.
Paul’s Joy Over the Church’s Repentance
2 Make room for us in your hearts.(D) We have wronged no one, we have corrupted no one, we have exploited no one. 3 I do not say this to condemn you; I have said before that you have such a place in our hearts(E) that we would live or die with you. 4 I have spoken to you with great frankness; I take great pride in you.(F) I am greatly encouraged;(G) in all our troubles my joy knows no bounds.(H)
5 For when we came into Macedonia,(I) we had no rest, but we were harassed at every turn(J)—conflicts on the outside, fears within.(K) 6 But God, who comforts the downcast,(L) comforted us by the coming of Titus,(M) 7 and not only by his coming but also by the comfort you had given him. He told us about your longing for me, your deep sorrow, your ardent concern for me, so that my joy was greater than ever.
8 Even if I caused you sorrow by my letter,(N) I do not regret it. Though I did regret it—I see that my letter hurt you, but only for a little while— 9 yet now I am happy, not because you were made sorry, but because your sorrow led you to repentance. For you became sorrowful as God intended and so were not harmed in any way by us. 10 Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation(O) and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death. 11 See what this godly sorrow has produced in you: what earnestness, what eagerness to clear yourselves, what indignation, what alarm, what longing, what concern,(P) what readiness to see justice done. At every point you have proved yourselves to be innocent in this matter. 12 So even though I wrote to you,(Q) it was neither on account of the one who did the wrong(R) nor on account of the injured party, but rather that before God you could see for yourselves how devoted to us you are. 13 By all this we are encouraged.
In addition to our own encouragement, we were especially delighted to see how happy Titus(S) was, because his spirit has been refreshed by all of you. 14 I had boasted to him about you,(T) and you have not embarrassed me. But just as everything we said to you was true, so our boasting about you to Titus(U) has proved to be true as well. 15 And his affection for you is all the greater when he remembers that you were all obedient,(V) receiving him with fear and trembling.(W) 16 I am glad I can have complete confidence in you.(X)

7 Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
2 Receive us; we have wronged no man, we have corrupted no man, we have defrauded no man.
3 I speak not this to condemn you: for I have said before, that ye are in our hearts to die and live with you.
4 Great is my boldness of speech toward you, great is my glorying of you: I am filled with comfort, I am exceeding joyful in all our tribulation.
5 For, when we were come into Macedonia, our flesh had no rest, but we were troubled on every side; without were fightings, within were fears.
6 Nevertheless God, that comforteth those that are cast down, comforted us by the coming of Titus;
7 And not by his coming only, but by the consolation wherewith he was comforted in you, when he told us your earnest desire, your mourning, your fervent mind toward me; so that I rejoiced the more.
8 For though I made you sorry with a letter, I do not repent, though I did repent: for I perceive that the same epistle hath made you sorry, though it were but for a season.
9 Now I rejoice, not that ye were made sorry, but that ye sorrowed to repentance: for ye were made sorry after a godly manner, that ye might receive damage by us in nothing.
10 For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.
11 For behold this selfsame thing, that ye sorrowed after a godly sort, what carefulness it wrought in you, yea, what clearing of yourselves, yea, what indignation, yea, what fear, yea, what vehement desire, yea, what zeal, yea, what revenge! In all things ye have approved yourselves to be clear in this matter.
12 Wherefore, though I wrote unto you, I did it not for his cause that had done the wrong, nor for his cause that suffered wrong, but that our care for you in the sight of God might appear unto you.
13 Therefore we were comforted in your comfort: yea, and exceedingly the more joyed we for the joy of Titus, because his spirit was refreshed by you all.
14 For if I have boasted any thing to him of you, I am not ashamed; but as we spake all things to you in truth, even so our boasting, which I made before Titus, is found a truth.
15 And his inward affection is more abundant toward you, whilst he remembereth the obedience of you all, how with fear and trembling ye received him.
16 I rejoice therefore that I have confidence in you in all things.
