10 For we must all appear before (A)the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may be recompensed for [a]his deeds in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.
11 So then, knowing the (B)fear of the Lord, we persuade men, but we [b]have been made manifest to God; and I hope that we [c]have been (C)made manifest also in your consciences. 12 We are not (D)again commending ourselves to you but are giving you an (E)opportunity to boast of us, so that you will have an answer for those who boast in appearance and not in heart.

11 Since, then, we know what it is to fear the Lord,(B) we try to persuade others. What we are is plain to God, and I hope it is also plain to your conscience.(C) 12 We are not trying to commend ourselves to you again,(D) but are giving you an opportunity to take pride in us,(E) so that you can answer those who take pride in what is seen rather than in what is in the heart.
