¹⁴ According to the ruling of David his father, he appointed ^(A)the divisions of the priests for their service, ^(B)and the Levites for their offices of praise and ^(C)ministry before the priests ^(D)as the duty of each day required, and ^(E)the gatekeepers in their divisions at each gate, for so David ^(F)the man of God had commanded.

¹⁸ And Jehoiada posted watchmen for the house of the Lord under the direction of ^(A)the Levitical priests and the Levites ^(B)whom David had organized to be in charge of the house of the Lord, to offer burnt offerings to the Lord, ^(C)as it is written in the Law of Moses, with rejoicing and with singing, ^(D)according to the order of David.

⁴ Prepare yourselves ^(A)according to your fathers' houses by your divisions, ^(B)as prescribed in the writing of David king of Israel ^(C)and the document of Solomon his son.

¹⁸ And they set the priests ^(A)in their divisions and the Levites ^(B)in their divisions, for the service of God at Jerusalem, ^(C)as it is written in the Book of Moses.
