He rebuilt the high places his father Hezekiah had demolished; he also erected altars to the Baals and made Asherah poles.(A) He bowed down(B) to all the starry hosts and worshiped them. He built altars in the temple of the Lord, of which the Lord had said, “My Name(C) will remain in Jerusalem forever.” In both courts of the temple of the Lord,(D) he built altars to all the starry hosts. He sacrificed his children(E) in the fire in the Valley of Ben Hinnom, practiced divination and witchcraft, sought omens, and consulted mediums(F) and spiritists.(G) He did much evil in the eyes of the Lord, arousing his anger.

Also he built altars in the house of the Lord, whereof the Lord had said, In Jerusalem shall my name be for ever.

And he caused his children to pass through the fire in the valley of the son of Hinnom: also he observed times, and used enchantments, and used witchcraft, and dealt with a familiar spirit, and with wizards: he wrought much evil in the sight of the Lord, to provoke him to anger.
