Hezekiah Sets Up Priests for Service

And Hezekiah set up (A)the divisions of the priests and the Levites by their divisions, each according to his service, both the priests and the Levites, (B)for burnt offerings and for peace offerings, to minister and to give thanks and to praise in the gates of the camp of Yahweh. He also appointed (C)the king’s portion of his goods for the burnt offerings, namely, for the morning and evening burnt offerings, and the burnt offerings for the sabbaths and for the new moons and for the appointed times, (D)as it is written in the law of Yahweh. Also he said to the people who lived in Jerusalem to give (E)the portion due to the priests and the Levites, that they might be strong in (F)the law of Yahweh.

Contributions for Worship(A)

Hezekiah(B) assigned the priests and Levites to divisions(C)—each of them according to their duties as priests or Levites—to offer burnt offerings and fellowship offerings, to minister,(D) to give thanks and to sing praises(E) at the gates of the Lord’s dwelling.(F) The king contributed(G) from his own possessions for the morning and evening burnt offerings and for the burnt offerings on the Sabbaths, at the New Moons and at the appointed festivals as written in the Law of the Lord.(H) He ordered the people living in Jerusalem to give the portion(I) due the priests and Levites so they could devote themselves to the Law of the Lord.
