6 He walked in the way of the kings of Israel, as did Ahab’s house; for he had Ahab’s daughter as his wife. He did that which was evil in Yahweh’s sight. 7 However Yahweh would not destroy David’s house, because of the covenant that he had made with David, and as he promised to give a lamp to him and to his children always.
8 In his days Edom revolted from under the hand of Judah, and made a king over themselves.

6 He followed the ways of the kings of Israel,(A) as the house of Ahab had done, for he married a daughter of Ahab.(B) He did evil in the eyes of the Lord. 7 Nevertheless, because of the covenant the Lord had made with David,(C) the Lord was not willing to destroy the house of David.(D) He had promised to maintain a lamp(E) for him and his descendants forever.
8 In the time of Jehoram, Edom(F) rebelled against Judah and set up its own king.
