New King James Version
2 Then some came and told Jehoshaphat, saying, “A great multitude is coming against you from beyond the sea, from [a]Syria; and they are (A)in Hazazon Tamar” (which is (B)En Gedi). 3 And Jehoshaphat feared, and set [b]himself to (C)seek the Lord, and (D)proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah. 4 So Judah gathered together to ask (E)help from the Lord; and from all the cities of Judah they came to seek the Lord.

New International Version
2 Some people came and told Jehoshaphat, “A vast army(A) is coming against you from Edom,[a] from the other side of the Dead Sea. It is already in Hazezon Tamar(B)” (that is, En Gedi).(C) 3 Alarmed, Jehoshaphat resolved to inquire of the Lord, and he proclaimed a fast(D) for all Judah. 4 The people of Judah(E) came together to seek help from the Lord; indeed, they came from every town in Judah to seek him.
