12 Then the Lord defeated the Ethiopians, and Asa and the army of Judah triumphed as the Ethiopians fled. 13 They chased them as far as Gerar, and the entire Ethiopian army was wiped out so that not one man remained; for the Lord and his army destroyed them all. Then the army of Judah carried off vast quantities of plunder. 14 While they were at Gerar they attacked all the cities in that area, and terror from the Lord came upon the residents. As a result, additional vast quantities of plunder were collected from these cities too.

12 The Lord struck down(A) the Cushites before Asa and Judah. The Cushites fled, 13 and Asa and his army pursued them as far as Gerar.(B) Such a great number of Cushites fell that they could not recover; they were crushed(C) before the Lord and his forces. The men of Judah carried off a large amount of plunder.(D) 14 They destroyed all the villages around Gerar, for the terror(E) of the Lord had fallen on them. They looted all these villages, since there was much plunder there.
