13 In the eighteenth year of King Jeroboam, Abijah began to reign over Judah.^(A)

New International Version

13 In the eighteenth year of the reign of Jeroboam, Abijah became king of Judah,

²He reigned for three years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Micaiah daughter of Uriel of Gibeah.

Now there was war between Abijah and Jeroboam.^(A)

²and he reigned in Jerusalem three years. His mother’s name was Maakah,^[a]^(A) a daughter^[b] of Uriel of Gibeah.

There was war between Abijah^(B) and Jeroboam.^(C)
