⁹ So Samuel took a sucking lamb and offered it as a whole burnt offering to the Lord. And ^(A)Samuel cried out to the Lord for Israel, and the Lord answered him.

⁶ But the thing displeased Samuel when they said, “Give us a king to judge us.” And Samuel prayed to the Lord.

²³ Moreover, as for me, far be it from me that I should sin against the Lord by ceasing ^(A)to pray for you, ^(B)and I will instruct you in the good and the right way.

^11 (A)“I regret that I have made Saul king, for he has turned back from following me and ^(B)has not performed my commandments.” And Samuel was angry, and he cried to the Lord all night.
