¹⁸ And he answered, “I have not troubled Israel, but you have, and your father's house, because you have ^(A)abandoned the commandments of the Lord and ^(B)followed the Baals.

²¹ And Elijah came near to all the people and said, “How long ^(A)will you go limping between two different opinions? ^(B)If the Lord is God, follow him; but if Baal, then follow him.” And the people did not answer him a word.

^11 (A)So I confronted the officials and said, ^(B)“Why is the house of God forsaken?” And I gathered them together and set them in their stations.

¹⁵ In those days I saw in Judah people treading wine presses ^(A)on the Sabbath, and bringing in heaps of grain and loading them on donkeys, and also wine, grapes, figs, and all kinds of loads, ^(B)which they brought into Jerusalem on the Sabbath day. And ^(C)I warned them on the day when they sold food.

⁷ But when he saw many of ^(A)the Pharisees and ^(B)Sadducees coming to his baptism, he said to them, ^(C)“You brood of ^(D)vipers! Who warned you to flee from ^(E)the wrath to come?

⁴ because John had been saying to him, ^(A)“It is not lawful for you to have her.”

^11 (A)Take no part in the ^(B)unfruitful ^(C)works of darkness, but instead ^(D)expose them.
