⁴³ Then he rested with his ancestors and was buried in the city of David his father. And Rehoboam^(A) his son succeeded him as king.

⁸ But Rehoboam rejected^(A) the advice the elders gave him and consulted the young men who had grown up with him and were serving him.

²⁸ After seeking advice, the king made two golden calves.^(A) He said to the people, “It is too much for you to go up to Jerusalem. Here are your gods, Israel, who brought you up out of Egypt.”^(B)
