⁶ Also ^(A)David separated them into ^[a]divisions among the sons of Levi: Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.

¹³ also for the division of the priests and the ^(A)Levites, for all the work of the service of the house of the Lord, and for all the articles of service in the house of the Lord.

¹¹ And it came to pass when the priests came out of the Most Holy Place (for all the priests who were present had ^[a]sanctified themselves, without keeping to their ^(A)divisions),

¹⁴ And, according to the ^[a]order of David his father, he appointed the ^(A)divisions of the priests for their service, ^(B)the Levites for their duties (to praise and serve before the priests) as the duty of each day required, and the ^(C)gatekeepers by their divisions at each gate; for so David the man of God had commanded.

⁸ So the Levites and all Judah did according to all that Jehoiada the priest commanded. And each man took his men who were to be on duty on the Sabbath, with those who were going off duty on the Sabbath; for Jehoiada the priest had not dismissed ^(A)the divisions.

² And Hezekiah appointed ^(A)the divisions of the priests and the Levites according to their divisions, each man according to his service, the priests and Levites ^(B)for burnt offerings and peace offerings, to serve, to give thanks, and to praise in the gates of the ^[a]camp of the Lord.

⁴ Prepare yourselves ^(A)according to your fathers’ ^[a]houses, according to your divisions, following the ^(B)written instruction of David king of Israel and the ^(C)written instruction of Solomon his son.

⁵ And ^(A)stand in the holy place according to the divisions of the fathers’ houses of your brethren the lay people, and according to the division of the father’s house of the Levites.

¹⁸ They assigned the priests to their ^(A)divisions and the Levites to their ^(B)divisions, over the service of God in Jerusalem, ^(C)as it is written in the Book of Moses.
