1 Timothy 5:18-20

New Living Translation

¹⁸For the Scripture says, “You must not muzzle an ox to keep it from eating as it treads out the grain.” And in another place, “Those who work deserve their pay!”^[a]

¹⁹Do not listen to an accusation against an elder unless it is confirmed by two or three witnesses. ²⁰Those who sin should be reprimanded in front of the whole church; this will serve as a strong warning to others.

¹⁸For Scripture says, “Do not muzzle an ox while it is treading out the grain,”^[a]^(A) and “The worker deserves his wages.”^[b]^(B) ¹⁹Do not entertain an accusation against an elder^(C) unless it is brought by two or three witnesses.^(D) ²⁰But those elders who are sinning you are to reprove^(E) before everyone, so that the others may take warning.^(F)
