18 For the Scripture says “You shall not muzzle a threshing ox” [Deut 25:4], and “The worker is worthy of his wages” [Lk 10:7]. 19 Do not be accepting an accusation against an elder unless on the basis of two or three witnesses. 20 Be rebuking the ones sinning in the presence of all[a], in order that the rest also may have fear.

18 For Scripture says, “Do not muzzle an ox while it is treading out the grain,”[a](A) and “The worker deserves his wages.”[b](B) 19 Do not entertain an accusation against an elder(C) unless it is brought by two or three witnesses.(D) 20 But those elders who are sinning you are to reprove(E) before everyone, so that the others may take warning.(F)
