1 Thessalonians 2:5-7

5 For neither at any time did we come with flattering words, as you know, nor with a pretext for greed. God is our witness. 6 Nor did we seek glory from men, either from you, or from others, even though we might have made demands as the apostles of Christ.
7 But we were gentle among you, like a nurse caring for her own children.

5 You know we never used flattery, nor did we put on a mask to cover up greed(A)—God is our witness.(B) 6 We were not looking for praise from people,(C) not from you or anyone else, even though as apostles(D) of Christ we could have asserted our authority.(E) 7 Instead, we were like young children[a] among you.
