8 For the word of the Lord has sounded forth from you not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but in every place where your faith in God has become known, so that we have no need to speak about it. 9 For the people of those regions[a] report about us what kind of welcome we had among you, and how you turned to God from idols, to serve a living and true God, 10 and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead—Jesus, who rescues us from the wrath that is coming.

8 The Lord’s message(A) rang out from you not only in Macedonia and Achaia—your faith in God has become known everywhere.(B) Therefore we do not need to say anything about it, 9 for they themselves report what kind of reception you gave us. They tell how you turned(C) to God from idols(D) to serve the living and true God,(E) 10 and to wait for his Son from heaven,(F) whom he raised from the dead(G)—Jesus, who rescues us from the coming wrath.(H)

9 For they themselves shew of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God;
10 And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.
