⁷ Then Yahweh said to Samuel, “Listen to the voice of the people in regard to all that they say to you, for ^(A)they have not rejected you, but they have rejected Me from being king over them.

¹⁶ “^(A)The one who listens to you listens to Me, and ^(B)the one who rejects you rejects Me. And he who rejects Me rejects the One who sent Me.”

² Therefore ^[a]whoever resists that authority has opposed the ordinance of God; and they who have opposed will receive condemnation upon themselves.

⁸ Consequently, he who sets this aside is not setting aside man but the God who ^(A)gives His Holy Spirit to you.
