7 David said to Abiathar the priest, son of Ahimelech, “Bring me the ephod.”(A) So Abiathar brought it to him, 8 and David asked the Lord:(B) “Should I pursue these raiders? Will I overtake them?”(C)
The Lord replied to him, “Pursue them, for you will certainly overtake them and rescue the people.”(D)
9 David and the 600 men with him(E) went as far as the Wadi Besor, where 200 men who were to remain behind would stop.(F)

New International Version
7 Then David said to Abiathar(A) the priest, the son of Ahimelek, “Bring me the ephod.(B)” Abiathar brought it to him, 8 and David inquired(C) of the Lord, “Shall I pursue this raiding party? Will I overtake them?”
“Pursue them,” he answered. “You will certainly overtake them and succeed(D) in the rescue.(E)”
9 David and the six hundred men(F) with him came to the Besor Valley, where some stayed behind.
