Now David and his men went up and raided (A)the Geshurites and the Girzites and (B)the Amalekites; for they were the inhabitants of the land from ancient times, as you come to (C)Shur even as far as the land of Egypt. David [a]attacked the land and did not leave a man or a woman alive, and he (D)took away the sheep, the cattle, the donkeys, the camels, and the clothing. Then he returned and came to Achish. 10 Now Achish said, “Where have you (E)made a raid today?” And David said, “Against the [b]Negev of Judah and against the [c]Negev of (F)the Jerahmeelites and against the [d]Negev of (G)the Kenites.”

10 When Achish asked, “Where did you go raiding today?” David would say, “Against the Negev of Judah” or “Against the Negev of Jerahmeel(E)” or “Against the Negev of the Kenites.(F)
