⁹But David said to Abishai, “Don’t destroy him! Who can lay a hand on the Lord’s anointed^(A) and be guiltless?^(B)

⁹And David said to Abishai, Destroy him not: for who can stretch forth his hand against the Lord's anointed, and be guiltless?

²¹Then Abishai^(A) son of Zeruiah said, “Shouldn’t Shimei be put to death for this? He cursed^(B) the Lord’s anointed.”^(C)

²¹But Abishai the son of Zeruiah answered and said, Shall not Shimei be put to death for this, because he cursed the Lord's anointed?
