1 Samuel 26:19-21
Good News Translation
19 Your Majesty, listen to what I have to say. If it is the Lord who has turned you against me, an offering to him will make him change his mind; but if some people have done it, may the Lord's curse fall on them. For they have driven me out from the Lord's land to a country where I can only worship foreign gods. 20 Don't let me be killed on foreign soil, away from the Lord. Why should the king of Israel come to kill a flea like me? Why should he hunt me down like a wild bird?”
21 Saul answered, “I have done wrong. Come back, David, my son! I will never harm you again, because you have spared my life tonight. I have been a fool! I have done a terrible thing!”

1 Samuel 26:19-21
New International Version
19 Now let my lord the king listen(A) to his servant’s words. If the Lord has incited you against me, then may he accept an offering.(B) If, however, people have done it, may they be cursed before the Lord! They have driven me today from my share in the Lord’s inheritance(C) and have said, ‘Go, serve other gods.’(D) 20 Now do not let my blood(E) fall to the ground far from the presence of the Lord. The king of Israel has come out to look for a flea(F)—as one hunts a partridge in the mountains.(G)”
21 Then Saul said, “I have sinned.(H) Come back, David my son. Because you considered my life precious(I) today, I will not try to harm you again. Surely I have acted like a fool and have been terribly wrong.”
