29 Yet [a]a man hath risen up to persecute thee, and to seek thy soul, but the soul of my lord shall be bound in the [b]bundle of life with the Lord thy God: and the soul of thine enemies shall God cast out, as out of the middle of a sling.

30 And when the Lord shall have done to my lord all the good that he hath promised thee, and shall have made thee ruler over Israel,

31 Then shall it be no grief unto thee, nor offence of mind unto my lord, that he hath not shed blood causeless, nor that my lord hath [c]not preserved himself: and when the Lord shall have dealt well with my lord, remember thine handmaid.

29 Even though someone is pursuing you to take your life,(A) the life of my lord will be bound securely in the bundle of the living by the Lord your God, but the lives of your enemies he will hurl(B) away as from the pocket of a sling.(C) 30 When the Lord has fulfilled for my lord every good thing he promised concerning him and has appointed him ruler(D) over Israel, 31 my lord will not have on his conscience the staggering burden of needless bloodshed or of having avenged himself.
