¹⁷ Thus he said to him, “^(A)Do not be afraid, because the hand of Saul my father will not find you, and you will be king over Israel and I will be next to you; and ^(B)Saul my father knows that also.”

²⁸ Please forgive ^(A)the transgression of your maidservant; for ^(B)the Lord will certainly make for my lord an enduring house, because my lord is ^(C)fighting the battles of the Lord, and ^(D)evil will not be found in you all your days. ²⁹ Should anyone rise up to pursue you and to seek your ^[a]life, then the ^[b]life of my lord shall be bound in the bundle of the living with the Lord your God; but the ^[c]lives of your enemies ^(E)He will sling out ^[d]as from the hollow of a sling. ³⁰ And when the Lord does for my lord according to all the good that He has spoken concerning you, and ^(F)appoints you ruler over Israel,
