18 The king said to Doeg, “Turn and attack the priests!”
Doeg the Edomite turned, and he attacked the priests, and he killed on that day eighty-five people who wore a linen ephod. 19 He struck Nob, the city of the priests, with the edge of the sword, both men and women, children and nursing babies, and cattle and donkeys and sheep, with the edge of the sword. 20 One of the sons of Ahimelech, the son of Ahitub, named Abiathar, escaped, and fled after David.

18 The king then ordered Doeg, “You turn and strike down the priests.”(A) So Doeg the Edomite turned and struck them down. That day he killed eighty-five men who wore the linen ephod.(B) 19 He also put to the sword(C) Nob,(D) the town of the priests, with its men and women, its children and infants, and its cattle, donkeys and sheep.
20 But one son of Ahimelek son of Ahitub,(E) named Abiathar,(F) escaped and fled to join David.(G)
