Modern English Version
18 The king said to Doeg, “You turn and fall upon the priests.” And Doeg the Edomite turned and struck the priests and killed on that day eighty-five men who wore a linen ephod. 19 And Nob, the city of the priests, he struck with the edge of the sword. Both men and women, children and babies, oxen, donkeys, and sheep, he struck with the edge of the sword.

New International Version
18 The king then ordered Doeg, “You turn and strike down the priests.”(A) So Doeg the Edomite turned and struck them down. That day he killed eighty-five men who wore the linen ephod.(B) 19 He also put to the sword(C) Nob,(D) the town of the priests, with its men and women, its children and infants, and its cattle, donkeys and sheep.
20 But one son of Ahimelek son of Ahitub,(E) named Abiathar,(F) escaped and fled to join David.(G)
