31 As long as that fellow is alive, you’ll never be king. Now go and get him so I can kill him!”
32 “But what has he done?” Jonathan demanded. “Why should he be put to death?”
33 Then Saul hurled his spear at Jonathan, intending to kill him; so at last Jonathan realized that his father really meant it when he said David must die.

31 As long as the son of Jesse lives on this earth, neither you nor your kingdom(A) will be established. Now send someone to bring him to me, for he must die!”
32 “Why(B) should he be put to death? What(C) has he done?” Jonathan asked his father. 33 But Saul hurled his spear at him to kill him. Then Jonathan knew that his father intended(D) to kill David.
