31 Every day Jesse’s son lives on earth you and your kingship are not secure. Now send for him and bring him to me—he must die!” (A)
32 Jonathan answered his father back, “Why is he to be killed? What has he done?” (B)
33 Then Saul threw his spear at Jonathan to kill him,(C) so he knew that his father was determined to kill David.(D)

31 As long as the son of Jesse lives on this earth, neither you nor your kingdom(A) will be established. Now send someone to bring him to me, for he must die!”
32 “Why(B) should he be put to death? What(C) has he done?” Jonathan asked his father. 33 But Saul hurled his spear at him to kill him. Then Jonathan knew that his father intended(D) to kill David.
